The program also features horseback riding, mounted and unmounted games, scavenger hunts, pony bath time, pony painting, and horse and pony themed arts and crafts, all with a focus on learning horsemanship and horse science.
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., with sessions running from June 16th through August 1st; before and aftercare available upon prior request
• Price: $100.00/day per child, with a two day minimum
On Course Riding Academy is a USHJA-recognized and SafeSport-Certified Hunt Seat Equestrian Center with a herd of over 20 schoolmaster horses and is proudly family-owned and operated. On Course’s USHJA-certified trainers have years of professional experience. The program will be separated by skill and knowledge level so everyone will be learning something new, and it is described as a very active program where students leave tired, happy, and eager to come back for more. The summer program specializes in furthering the student's knowledge about riding, horse care, and horse science, and the academy has helped riders accomplish their biggest goals, develop stellar horsemanship, and compete at high-level horse shows for nearly 20 years. All riders are asked to bring a lunch, water, and sunscreen, wear proper barn attire, and kids with little to no riding experience are recommended to take a private lesson before their Summer Program sessions.
Parent testimonials describe the trainers and team as caring, informative, and safe in teaching the beginnings of horse riding, and mention that the program works well for both beginners and more experienced riders, including adults returning to the saddle. One parent notes feeling comfortable yet challenged while riding with the team and highlights the quality of the school horses.
