The Summer Riding Program includes a daily riding lesson, grooming and tacking sessions, games on horseback, and other horse-related activities such as bathing horses, grazing, learning about tack and equipment, and learning a basic of horses. Daily activities are designed to be fun, educational and are designed to develop horsemanship skills in young riders.

• Schedule: June 8–August 6, 2026, Monday–Thursday, with a tentative daily schedule from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Red Coat Farm, which runs the Summer Riding Program, is a Hunter-Jumper riding facility that offers training for all riding levels from beginning rider lessons to national level A show hunter, jumper, and equitation training. It is described as a Premier Equestrian Hunter Jumper Show Barn and a Premier Hunter-Jumper Barn in Hawthorn Woods, IL, with a show team that competes at national and international competitions, including in Europe and China, and has a flexible show schedule to accommodate as many riders as possible. The head trainer, Lisa Goldman, leads the show team and has years of experience starting numerous young horses and bringing them up to international competition level; she is proficient at handling all horses regardless of temperament and ridability and specializes in dealing with sensitive horses. Since 1993 Red Coat Farm has been in business, and in its over thirty years of business it has acquired a loyal and supportive family of boarders who greet newcomers with enthusiasm, with many clients having been with Red Coat Farm for 20 years plus. The facility includes two indoor arenas (65' x 155' and 75' x 200'), a large outdoor arena (100' x 300'), fifteen turn-out paddocks and pastures, two heated viewing rooms with amenities, a heated main boarding barn containing sixty-six stalls, and heated shower stalls. It is recommended that a child is able to post the trot before the start of camp, and individual lessons are available beforehand.
