Future Stars Basketball Camp has been held since 1983 and reports training more than 10,000 kids since that time. The camp’s stated mission is to provide basketball players with the fundamentals needed to succeed in today’s game, with a focus on the individual camper through individual drills and team competition, and an emphasis on both pre-high school athletes and varsity athletes. The program notes an 8:1 player to coach ratio, evaluations that place campers on teams with others of similar ability, age, and grade, and the option for campers to move to another team during the week if their talent level indicates a change. Skills awards and coach’s awards are given out on the last day of camp.

The camp leadership includes Directors Jim Nazos and Mike Dunn, with Coach Nazos serving as Head Boys Basketball Coach at Batavia High School and Coach Dunn serving as Boys Varsity Basketball Coach at York High School. Future Stars reports that all coaches are current high school basketball coaches in the Chicago-area and are collegiate players as well as previous varsity high school players. The camp states that an Athletic Trainer is on staff 24 hours a day and that the trainer is certified in the latest sports medicine. The program notes that registrations are handled on a first-come, first-serve basis and that camps fill up very quickly.

Program materials list several coaching and team achievements: Coach Nazos was named District 7 Coach of the Year in 2001; Batavia was IHSA Regional Champion in 2024 and Upstate Eight River Conference Champion in 2015–2016; Coach Nazos’ teams have won three regional championships and a DuPage Valley Conference Championship in 2008; and while at Benedictine he was part of a team that won three conference titles and reached the Elite 8 in 1991. In 2024, the York basketball team was also IHSA Regional Champion.

Parent and coach testimonials describe the camp as having great coaches, outstanding or excellent facilities, being very well run and organized, and providing a memorable camp experience, with several families noting that their children attended for multiple years and wanted to return. Testimonials also mention early morning motivational speakers, competitive play and daily matchups, personal connections with coaches, and positive comments about food and the overall camp environment.
