Before & After School Care and Summer Camp Programs include activities such as Arts & Crafts, games, outside play, science experiments, and quiet time. The program also offers games and crafts, time at the park and pool, and field trips on days off from school, including what are described as awesome field trips.
• Ages: 5–11 years old
• Schedule: Open Monday through Friday from 6am–6pm.
The Before & After School Care and Summer Camp programs are described as a safe and healthy environment for children needing day care and are DCFS licensed in child care. Summer camp is available for children 5 to 11 years old, and children from kindergarten (5 years old) through 5th grade (11 years old) are welcome. Van transportation is available for Riverwood and Hilltop, and care is available during school breaks and snow days for all District 15 schools. Morning and afternoon snacks are provided for both the Before & After School Care and Summer Camp programs, and there are special days and sometimes entire weeks dedicated to a fun theme or adventure.
The program is part of a church community whose mission is to love people wherever they are, live the grace of God in Jesus Christ, and grow in faith and service. The leadership team includes Director and Before & After School and Summer Camp Director Ashley Metcalf, Interim Lead Pastor Robert C. Kinnear, Director of Children & Family Ministries Heather Castaing, Parish Coordinator Jenelle Buchert, Preschool Director Jennifer Walker, and Finance Director Willetta Wheeler. The broader church community runs a Benevolence program that provides food and monetary support for those in need throughout the year, along with special programs at Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas that offer meals for families and presents for children.
