About

Offense-Defense Football Camps offers full contact football training as well as non-contact compliant football training in areas where full contact or pads are not allowed. Campers take part in on-field training sessions, classroom study sessions, evening chalk talk, film study, live play evaluated competitions, 1v1 competitions, games during each session, and up to three games a day where rules permit. Additional activities can include a Skills Challenge, evaluations, award recognition, Standardized Athletic Testing (S.A.T.), kicking, long snapping, and special teams training at selected locations, along with a live recruiting element seminar with a college representative onsite, a streaming service during the camp day, and live social media engagements during the camp day.

The typical Mega Camp schedule includes three days of training with multiple sessions each day, including daytime sessions for all campers and evening sessions for overnight and extended campers, ending with a Skills Challenge, evaluations, and award recognition. The typical Mini Camp schedule also runs over three days, includes Standardized Athletic Testing (S.A.T.) instruction and testing on the first morning, and ends with a Skills Challenge, evaluations, and award recognition.

The coaching staff includes NFL players and coaches and college coaches, with college and NFL pro coaches, guest speakers, and visitors present. Each player is evaluated by the coaching staff and dedicated regional scouts using a modified pro-style system, and coaches rank and evaluate abilities using a star system. Campers receive free online access to Offense-Defense’s personal, Placement, Recruiting, and Exposure (PREview) profile, and athletes are ranked by position and age group, both locally and nationally, through a network of scouts and recruiting partners.

Offense-Defense Sports started with one instructional football camp in the summer of 1969 and has been working with youth and high school athletes for over five decades, with Bowl Week currently in its tenth incarnation. The program’s stated mission is to deliver football training and instruction at full contact and full speed, focusing on teaching technique rather than tactics, and also teaching players how to improve stamina, speed, and agility, with an added statement that the love of Jesus compels the organization to serve others and that competition is approached according to the word of God, by the power of God, and for the glory of God.

Offense-Defense offers three camp options: a one-day Dual Threat Training Camp, a three-day All-American Mini Camp, and a one-day Flag Clinic, along with O-D Mega Camp and Mini Camp formats that include both full contact and non-contact compliant options. End-of-year events include Offense-Defense All-American Bowl Week with multiple events, Youth All-American Bowl Games, a youth football convention, a coaches clinic, awards dinners, press conferences, and the ODFL National tournament, where 80 of the top high school athletes across the country are invited to play in Bowl showdowns, and O-D’s first national ranking is published following the event season as a “Pre-Season” ranking. The organization notes that over 600 Offense-Defense alumni from camps and Bowl have gone on to the NFL, that 28 of 32 NFL teams have active Offense-Defense alumni, and that Offense-Defense has the largest number of FBS Division 1 signees, and it reports that there are hundreds of former Offense-Defense campers in the NFL. Camp events may also feature a camp store or limited camp store and use limited spots with capped numbers of athletes per position and age group.
