About
PGC Basketball Camps offers basketball training that includes extensive on-the-court experience and classroom sessions focused on the game. Players take part in hours of basketball training each day, and the camp format includes both day camps and overnight camps.
• Ages: 9–18 years old
• Schedule: 5-day, 4-night camps and separate day camps from 9am–4pm
For over 30 years, PGC Basketball has been the worldwide leader in teaching players how to think the game, be a leader, and run the show. The program offers a 3-course curriculum that includes Playmaker College, Scoring College, and Point Guard College, and players from 4th grade to college and the pros can attend. Over 150 camps are held across North America in the summer and fall, and over 140,000 players and 10,000 coaches have attended a PGC camp over the past 30 plus years. PGC has provided over $1.5 million in financial assistance to players.
PGC offers 5-day, 4-night camps that include meals and accommodations, as well as day camps from 9am–4pm. Families can choose a 3-Camp Pass that offers 3 camps for the price of 2, a 33% savings. The program includes the PGC Promise money-back guarantee and the “Dicky D. Downright Crazy Guarantee,” which offers a full refund plus $500 cash if a participant is not satisfied. The stated mission is “To Inspire and Equip Every Player & Coach Everywhere.”
PGC also donates a minimum of 1% of yearly net profits to support initiatives locally and abroad, and is presently building an indoor gymnasium for an orphanage in Kenya. Parents and players have described the instructors as positive and energetic, and several noted that the classroom sessions were extremely beneficial. Multiple parents and players mentioned that the camp involved hours of basketball training that left players sore, tired, and exhausted by the end of each day. Some participants commented that they wished the food changed more often and that dorms and gyms had air conditioning, while others highlighted growth in shooting and passing skills from day 1 to day 5.
Several parents said the camp met or exceeded their expectations and that their children wanted to return for specific courses like the Point Guard College. Coaches who attended reported gaining a wealth of knowledge, new drills, and language to simulate game situations and improve decision-making for their players. They also mentioned progression-based learning, collaboration with other observing coaches, and coming away with a higher basketball IQ and greater leadership skills for on and off the court.
