About
Coding to Learn STEM Summer Camp includes reading and math enrichment, test-taking skills and confidence building, and daily practice in math and English language arts. Campers take part in coding and real-world applications using tools such as Scratch, mBlock, Python, and web development with HTML, CSS, Java, JavaScript, SQL, and PHP, as well as data science and game development with C++, C#, and GDScript. The program also features robotics, drones, AI, hands-on problem-solving, presentations, interactive games, math challenges, FUN FRIDAYS, daily exit surveys and assessments, end-of-summer evaluations from instructors, and PSAT prep materials.
• Ages: 5–13 years old
• Schedule: June 1–August 7, Monday–Friday, with weekly tuition and a 5-week minimum, totaling over 450 hours of structured learning and enrichment
• Price: Weekly tuition $275/week (5-week minimum); 10% sibling discount; registration $75 for the first student and $50 for each additional student
Before and after-care are included, with drop-off as early as 8:30 AM and pickup as late as 5:30 PM. Parents provide lunch and snacks and are asked to pack a nut-free lunch; the camp provides time for snacks and hydration. Coding to Learn STEM Summer Camp is run by Naperville Youth Club, which offers hands-on, engaging STEM camps, programs tailored to different age groups and learning levels, small group instruction with intentionally low student-to-instructor ratios, secure check-in and check-out procedures, and clear daily routines. The program uses daily exit surveys for students and provides a detailed instructor evaluation at the end of the summer outlining academic gains, strengths, and next steps. In a prior year, campers achieved 97.3% growth in math skills and 92% growth in coding skills over more than 450 hours of structured learning and enrichment, and the camp has included occasional off-site activities in its pricing.
Naperville Youth Club is a nonprofit originally established in 2009 as a unit of the Boys & Girls Club of America and is rooted in the legacy of Each One Teach One. Its mission states that it envisions a future where all children in the community, regardless of the systemic issues they face, develop the knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitudes needed to thrive, and it prepares young people to thrive in an increasingly complex world by delivering academic enrichment programs with an integrated focus on STEM and English. The organization supports families living in surrounding cities such as Aurora, Wheaton, West Chicago, Bolingbrook, and Plainfield, and its work is made possible through corporate sponsors whose partnership expands access to STEM learning, supports community programs, and strengthens the experiences provided year-round. The leadership team includes Board President Amauri DaRocha, Board Vice President Jerry Richmond, Board Treasurer Brandon Akins, Board Director Dr. Vera Fullard (President Emeritus), Board Director Judge Sherri Hale, Board Director Jason Jarka, and Board Director Cheryl Stanton. The camp is described as a growth-focused experience where kids build real skills, gain confidence, and stay academically sharp all summer long, and activities and programs are expert-led and supported by trained staff who create a calm, structured learning environment.
One testimonial notes that a returning 3rd-grader and his parents said this is the only camp he ever wants to attend. Another testimonial shares that a returning 3rd-grader said this is the only camp he ever wants to attend and that he is determined to come back until he can teach coding himself.
