Decoma Day Camp was founded over 75 years ago and has operated since 1949. The leadership team includes the Deutsch Family, Barb and Gary, Abbey, and Samantha. The camp follows the American Red Cross “Learn to Swim Program,” and lessons are taught daily by qualified instructors. Swimming levels are broken down into small groups with a swimming program ratio of approximately three children per swimming instructor, and full day campers swim twice a day while shortened day campers swim once each day. The stated goal of the swimming program is to provide campers with the skills and confidence in the water to participate and enjoy the experience throughout their lives. The program describes itself as “More than just a day camp.”
