Decoma Day Camp was founded over 75 years ago and has been operating since 1949. The leadership team includes the Deutsch Family, Barb and Gary, Abbey, and Samantha, and the camp notes “Over 75 Years,” “3 Generations,” and “1 Family,” along with the phrase “Like Our Family We Treat Your Family” and “More than just a day camp.” The camp includes hot lunch and cookouts and highlights that campers swim twice daily.
The swimming program is conducted in a 3,900 square foot heated, T-shaped pool designed specifically for Decoma Day Camp. The program follows the American Red Cross “Learn to Swim Program,” and lessons are taught daily by qualified instructors. Swimming levels are broken down into small groups, with a ratio of approximately three children per swimming instructor, and the stated goal is to provide campers with the skills and confidence in the water to participate and enjoy the experience throughout their lives.
