McElroy Hoops offers basketball skills training through basketball camps, group sessions, a shooting lab, and 1-on-1 coaching. The program also includes special events such as Martin Luther King Jr. Day — Train. Shoot. Play (2026) and Rapid Fire Training: 2026. Court rentals are available for basketball, volleyball, pickleball, and soccer, and players can get up to 700 shots in 30 minutes using “The Gun.”

McElroy Hoops is led by Matt McElroy, a basketball trainer for all levels in Springfield, IL. Matt McElroy has been developing sports players into athletes for more than 20 years, with coaching experience that includes Sacred Heart-Griffin boys basketball for the past 5 years and 13 years coaching Robert Morris University men’s basketball. He is also very active in coaching and training girls basketball in both grade school sports and competitive settings. The stated mission is to work with aspiring athletes to get them more focused, powerful, and more technically proficient than before, with an emphasis on training to win and competing with sportsmanship. Court rentals connected to the program are available through the Salvation Army Springfield.
