About
Tri-Town YMCA Summer Camp includes weekly sports themes, swimming, cooking classes, and a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. Campers take part in field trips, including off-site trips such as Cantigny Park and Brookfield Zoo, as well as on-site visits like The Reptile Guy. Campers are provided with lunch and an afternoon snack, and they may bring their own healthy snacks and lunch if they prefer.
• Ages: 6–13 years old
• Schedule: Summer camp runs from May 26th to August 12th with camp days Monday–Friday, 9:00am–4:00pm, plus optional before-camp care from 6:30am–9:00am and after-camp care from 4:00pm–6:00pm; Thursday is field trip day.
• Price: Weekly Program Fee for camp day (9:00am–4:00pm) is 3 days $150, 4 days $185, 5 days $210; Before-Camp Care (6:30am–9:00am) is 3 days $30, 4 days $40, 5 days $50; After-Camp Care (4:00pm–6:00pm) is 3 days $30, 4 days $40, 5 days $50; program fees are charged to a credit card on file the Friday prior to the week of camp, with a $35 non-refundable registration fee per child and a $10 administrative fee for any withdrawal or changes after registration.
Tri-Town YMCA notes that this is the 54th summer of its day camp and that the summer program is for children entering 1st through 8th grades, with Y Kids Summer Camp for campers in 1st–4th grades, Adventure Club Camp for 5th–8th grades, and a Counselor in Training program for campers in middle school. Tri-Town YMCA is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that began as the YMCA of Lombard in 1966. Its stated mission is to provide enriching and diverse opportunities that build strong kids, families, and communities with a focus on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The organization reports working in close collaboration with local schools, park districts, churches, and other partners, and it offers fee assistance on a sliding scale according to ability to pay with support from community donors.
