Cosley Zoo Summer Camps include interactive learning experiences with games, activities, crafts, and live animals. Campers take part in team activities, animal visits, and arts and crafts projects. Some camps offer hands-on experiences such as cleaning a stall and feeding an animal.
• Ages: 4–15 years old
• Schedule: Weekday camp sessions from 8:45–11:45 a.m.
Animal Moves camp focuses on observing how animals move and how movement helps them navigate and survive in their environment. Ecosystems Explorers camp teaches about connections between plants, animals, and ecosystems that support the diversity of the planet. Backyard Buddies camp focuses on animals found in backyards, including bugs, birds, and animals with scales and fur. Creature Features camp focuses on unique and useful features animals have that help them survive. Zookeeper Camp allows participants to take part in keeper duties such as cleaning a stall and feeding animals. Wild About Art camp uses the zoo’s live animals as inspiration for arts and crafts projects. Habitat Hunt camp focuses on observing and learning about different habitats and the animals that live in them.
Cosley Zoo is home to farm animals and native wildlife, with exhibits that immerse visitors in natural habitats for white-tailed deer, red fox, Blanding’s turtles, a coyote, and more. Cosley Zoo is a center for animal education and conservation, offering programs that teach young and old how to care for the world around them and give back to the communities in which they live, work, and play. Cosley Zoo is a facility of the Wheaton Park District. Cosley Zoo is AZA-accredited and certified sensory inclusive.
