About
Camp Rhino includes week-long camps where campers do painting, mixed-media collage, three-dimensional creations, and large-scale artworks, often ending with a casual gallery-style showcase for families. Some Camp Rhino sessions focus on acting, storytelling, and improv, while others center on recording stories audibly, creating sound effects, and learning how stories are shared through podcasts, radio, and audiobooks. Additional camps feature field trips in and around Monroe County to local landmarks, historical locations, museums, and local exhibits, as well as space themed science and exploration with hands-on activities about life for astronauts on the space station and on missions to the moon and beyond. Other sessions include field trips with indoor and outdoor adventures such as splashing in water, fishing, hiking, kickball, swimming, splash pads, and Frisbee, and an annual Circus Camp where campers practice juggling, plate spinning, devil sticks, diablos, stilt walking, acrobatics, clown acts, and prepare for a Circus performance with a Midway and Midway business activities, along with hands-on building projects that use basic design concepts like balance, texture, and form and simple sketch-to-sculpture planning.
• Schedule: Circus Camp is a two week camp.
