About

IU Bloomington Precollege Programs offers dozens of year-round and in-person options where students can learn to build robots, unlock the secret to success in the business world, step up their game at a sports summer camp, immerse themselves in the world of music and dance, or take an IU class. The programs include precollege microsessions, Precollege Ballet, the Advance College Project (ACP) to take IU courses at a high school, and the On-campus Precollege Enrollment-Nondegree (OPEN) Program to take regular IU Bloomington classes while still in high school. Many summer camp options and virtual options are available, including short, virtual microsessions that are available any time and can be completed at a student’s own pace.

• Ages: 5–18 years old

The stated mission of IU Bloomington Precollege Programs is that the precollege programs allow students to explore IU on campus or at home with virtual options and to learn about and focus on subjects they love together with people who have similar interests. One student, Tori, a Precollege Ballet participant, says, “I love doing ballet at IU. We’re in the same studio space as the college students and we even get to perform in a real show!”
