Teach and Play ABA states a mission of providing individualized treatment to children with autism in a manner that will promote their ability to gain skills in their natural environment. The program uses natural environment training, modeling, video modeling, and repetitive practice, and it uses a variety of assessments to identify social skill strengths, social motivations, and preferred activities and topics. It offers a preschool readiness behavioral program that targets the Indiana Department of Education’s suggested kindergarten readiness skills and behaviors, and it has a school-aged ABA program available to learners up to the age of 18 years old, or sometimes 20 years old depending on insurance coverage.

Teach and Play ABA is a multi-speciality treatment facility that offers ABA therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy, and it provides speech and occupational therapy to any child with a referral from their pediatrician without requiring enrollment in ABA therapy. The program provides treatment in home, school, community, and clinic locations in the Bloomington, IN, Bedford, IN, and Bloomfield/Odon, IN area, and can provide services in schools, homes, daycares, and other locations throughout the Bloomington and surrounding area. The clinic facility for preschool and school-aged children’s programs is located near the College Mall in Bloomington, IN, and the facility is described as providing constant and familiar staffing, background checks for all staff, program regulation and oversight, and daily parent notes.

The clinic facility is set up to resemble a school and home-like environment and has security cameras throughout that parents are welcome to review with a clinician at any time. Teach and Play ABA describes its ABA therapy as natural environment, caring, compassionate, non-restrictive, and play-based, and it describes a full day of ABA therapy as a fun, hands-on experience. The program states that it prioritizes real-life skills and teaches adaptive skills such as waiting, tolerating “No,” following instructions, and communicating wants and needs, and it has a mission to increase a child’s skills so that he or she can transition to a school setting without behavior support.

Teach and Play ABA provides free behavior/developmental consultation for ABA therapy, free occupational therapy consultation, and free speech consultation. It takes traditional Medicaid, Anthem Medicaid, MHS, AMBetter, MDWise, United Healthcare, Tricare East, IU Health Insurance, Anthem BCBS, Cigna, Carelon, Evernorth, and many other insurances. The program is described as being made by a parent of an individual with autism.

Sara Shrivastav, MA, BCBA, is listed as part of the leadership team, has been a board-certified behavior analyst since 2017, and has been practicing ABA professionally since 2014, and she holds the board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) credential.
