Early Childhood Education Preschool Classes include weekly gym and swim classes, Music/Movement, Art Centers, and gardening activities such as growing vegetables and flowers. Children take part in artist workshops, specialized performances, and dance classes, and can also join activities such as soccer leagues, basketball leagues, swimming, tennis lessons, and karate. Swim lessons take place outdoors in the summer and indoors in a heated therapy pool.

The Early Childhood Education Preschool Classes are part of the JCC Indianapolis Early Childhood Education (ECE) program, which follows the Creative Curriculum method and uses play-based learning alongside the Indiana Early Learning Foundation. The program is consistent with the Indiana Department of Education’s Foundations for Young Children and is a Level Three Paths to QUALITY provider through Indiana’s voluntary childcare quality rating system. Teachers are well-trained and retrained each year in child development and health and safety standards. The JCC Early Childhood Education program collaborates with local organizations to bring in teaching artists for artist workshops and specialized performances, and children can participate in JCC Youth Program classes and sports activities after preschool hours for a nominal fee. JCC Indianapolis has been a neighborhood and community resource for more than 100 years and began in 1914 in downtown Indianapolis at 23rd and Meridian. The organization is described as inclusive and welcoming and is open to all, with exposure to Jewish learning and culture included in the program. The stated mission is that everything done in early childhood education is focused on developing skills for life and ensuring every child is well-prepared socially and academically for the years ahead.
