Indiana Repertory Theatre Summer Camp includes programs such as Introduction to Theatre (described as a crash course in all things theatre), Acting 1 and Acting 2, Introduction to Musical Theatre, Musical Theatre of the Golden Age, Musical Theatre of the Contemporary Age, Comedy Camp, Let’s Put On a Play!, Movement and Dance for Actors, a Two Week Advanced Acting Intensive, and a Mini Camp that includes a light snack. Let’s Put On a Play! gives younger actors the chance to perform a short play at the end of the week, and the Two Week Advanced Acting Intensive culminates in a performance that will cap off the entire summer of workshops. Comedy Camp explores improv, stand-up, farce, and more, while Movement and Dance for Actors focuses on physicality using dance, yoga, and warm-ups. The camp is welcoming to all genders, races, and abilities, and all personal electronic devices are securely stored until the end of each day, making the workshops tech-free zones for campers. Campers need to bring snacks, lunch, and a water bottle each day, with refrigeration available but not microwaves, and they are asked to wear comfortable clothing with closed-toed shoes that allow them to move freely.

Indiana Repertory Theatre is Indiana’s flagship LORT theatre and produces nine productions annually across three stages, with repertoire spanning world premieres to classics. It was founded in 1972, and its 54th Season runs September 23, 2026 through May 9, 2027. The organization is committed to building a vital, vibrant and informed community through the transformational power of live theatre and offers student matinees for all of its productions through the Christel DeHaan Student Matinee Program. The theatre is financially stable with a significant endowment and is actively working to diversify its staff and programming. The leadership team includes Margot Lacy Eccles Artistic Director Benjamin Hanna and Managing Director Suzanne Sweeney. Financial aid is available for the camp. One audience member, Kelly D., states, “I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing at least 20 different shows at the IRT. From hilarious farce comedies that bring laughter for days to heavy and poignant dramatic episodes that make you ponder… each and every performance is memorable in its own way.”
