TechPoint Youth has been inspiring students through STEM programming since 2001. TechPoint Youth ensures Indiana’s underserved and underrepresented K-12 students have access to experiential learning opportunities that increase STEM knowledge and inspire STEM career exploration. TechPoint Youth is a charitable organization focused on planting the seeds of STEM interest with K-12 students and is described as the leader in STEM education efforts for the state of Indiana. The organization reports reaching 70,000 students annually, impacting 1 in 4 underserved students in Indiana, and serving 92 of 92 Indiana counties, with a stated vision of access to a STEM learning opportunity for every underserved and underrepresented student in Indiana. The leadership team includes Brei Cecil-Satchwell as Chief Operating Officer.
Testimonials from participants and educators include a student who said, “Robotics sparked my passion for engineering. Now, I’m pursuing a STEM career!” and another student at Noblesville HS who said, “It’s encouraging to see the support, enthusiasm, and opportunities available for us to pursue in this sector we love.” A teacher shared that a shy female student became a leader and was voted by the team to be one of the competition-level drivers for their only robot, and Celia, a STEM Mentor at James Russell Lowell Montessori #51, said, “This goes beyond just a robotics club for today; it provides a fun learning environment now and will contribute to a more prosperous workforce in the years to come.”
