About
Youth Inspirations Theatre Programs offers musical theater through acting, singing, and dancing, along with ensemble work and performance. Participants learn choreography, strengthen acting skills, and develop stage presence while preparing themed performances such as Madagascar Kids: A Musical Adventure, Madagascar Jr., and Elf Jr. The program also offers productions, classes, workshops, summer camps, and private lessons that include musical theatre instruction, vocal instruction, and instrumental instruction.
• Ages: 6–18 years old
• Schedule: Over six weeks, participants engage in rigorous rehearsals while preparing for a final performance.
Over six weeks in the Spotlight Summer Intensive, participants take part in rigorous rehearsals, build confidence, and prepare for a spectacular final performance. Spotlight Summer Intensive is an audition-based program for aspiring performers aged 13–19, with auditions open to dedicated performers in this age group. Applicants for the Spotlight Summer Intensive must submit an online application form, headshot, and resume, and auditions require a one-minute monologue and 16 bars of a song.
Madagascar Kids: A Musical Adventure is designed for Rising Stars ages 6–8, Madagascar Jr. is for Shooting Stars ages 9–11, and Elf Jr. features Shining Stars ages 12–18. No previous experience is required for camps, and every student is featured in a role with lines, songs, and movement in the final day camp performance. Youth Inspirations Theatre Programs offers a team-oriented atmosphere combined with individualized instruction and welcomes students from all walks of life in a space where everyone belongs. Programs are described as a comprehensive, one-stop destination for creative expression and are designed to be accessible and convenient for families.
Youth Inspirations Theatre (YIT) enriches lives through the performing arts—one student at a time. YIT proudly produces six performances each year, giving students the chance to participate in high-quality, professional-level productions that offer real-world insight into the theatre industry. YIT is a registered 501(C)3 nonprofit organization and is rooted in strong family values. Job opportunities are available for Summer Camp Instructors, Class Instructors, Private Lesson Instructors (all instruments and voice), and Production Staff in both technical and creative roles.
The leadership team includes Founder, Artistic Director, and Executive Director Julie Nottingham; Marketing Director Megan Perry; Voice Instructor, Director, and Music Director Jeanne Bowling; Head of Dance and Choreography Karlee Ferreira; and Voice and Musical Theatre Instructor Hannah Bergman. Staff credentials include a Bachelor of Music in K–12 Vocal/General Music Education from Butler University for Julie Nottingham; a degree in Theatre Arts with a concentration in Management and Dance from Centenary College for Megan Perry; a Master of Vocal Pedagogy from Westminster Choir College for Jeanne Bowling; and a BFA in Musical Theatre with an Education minor from The University of Tampa for Hannah Bergman.
Parent testimonials describe YIT students as being inspired to think outside the box, explore different characters, and interpret stories, which supports kids in finding their unique voice and building a sense of identity. Parents also note that kindness and inclusion are important aspects of the program and that students are both well cared for and taught how to care for others. Another parent shares that YIT has expectations of their students that teach valuable life lessons, including the idea that effort is required to get the results they want.
