Multi-Arts is a non-profit art organization that has been offering performing arts programming for children 4–12 years old for over 25 years, and has fulfilled its mission for over twenty-three years of inspiring, guiding, and educating children in the performing and visual arts with innovative programs. Multi-Arts states that its mission is to empower and inspire children to explore their own creativity and develop a lifelong love of the arts. Programs are led by professional artists and teachers, and groups of 15 children, organized by age, work with internationally renowned professional performers and teachers and highly educated counselors, with faculty providing a multicultural experience.
Multi-Arts offers a Counselor in Training (CIT) program for teenagers who want to gain work experience as assistant counselors, and a scholarship fund that provides financial aid to children from low income families. Children’s creations are shared with the community through public performances and art exhibitions, and children’s art is displayed year round in hospitals, libraries, cultural institutions, and other public places, enabling young people to become published and presenting artists in the community. Multi-Arts describes itself as creating a forum that connects outstanding creative artists with children and young people, where artists bring their passion and joy to their teaching and children not only learn to do arts, but have the opportunity to experience being artists.
A parent testimonial describes the talent, dedication, and enthusiasm of the Multi-Arts executive director and staff as extraordinary, and notes that the group is constantly striving to provide children in the community with new and varied creative workshops while working with tightly controlled budgets to grow their programs.
