Challenge Unlimited at Ironstone Farm offers Therapeutic Riding, Ironstone Therapy (OT/PT), Recreational Riding, Stable Steps: Recovery Program, Veteran Wellness, Support For Families Facing Cancer, Youth Programs, Herd Series: Dementia-Friendly Programming, Sponsor A Journey Scholarship Program, and Summer Camp. Ironstone Therapy (OT/PT) is available for children as young as 2 years old. Recreational Riding teaches participants of all abilities how to care for, communicate with, and ride horses.
Programs
- Therapeutic Riding — Riding a horse simulates people’s normal walking movements, encouraging strengthened trunk control, improved balance and coordination, normalized muscle tone and increased stamina.
- Ironstone Therapy (OT/PT) — as young as 2 years old · Licensed professional physical and occupational therapists provide therapeutic intervention.
- Recreational Riding — Participants of all abilities learn how to care for, communicate with and ride horses in a safe and encouraging environment.
- Stable Steps: Recovery Program — Equine-Facilitated Learning (EFL) for individuals living with substance use disorder.
- Veteran Wellness — The human and horse connection has been proven to increase self-esteem and reduce anxiety while providing a sense of hope to veterans & first responders with PTSD.
- Support For Families Facing Cancer — Through recreational riding, participants of all abilities learn how to care for, communicate with and ride horses in a safe and encouraging environment.
- Youth Programs — Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL) for youth is a therapeutic approach that uses interactions with horses to promote emotional and behavioral growth.
- Herd Series: Dementia-Friendly Programming — Interacting and caring for animals provides physical and psychological benefits for seniors living with dementia and Alzheimer’s.
- Sponsor A Journey Scholarship Program — This scholarship program provides financial assistance to families in need, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to experience the unique and lasting impact of the work.
- Summer Camp — One-week long programs help new riders learn basic horsemanship skills and give experienced riders a chance to grow in a fun, safe and educational environment.
