Nike Boys Lacrosse Camp at Thayer Sports Center offers Advanced Skills, Complete Skills, Youth, and Goalie Skills options that focus on fundamentals, position training, drills, scrimmages, and special goalie instruction. Campers train each day on the turf field within the Thayer Sports Center facility.

The camp’s stated goal is to stimulate a love for the game by immersing players in the sport and providing focused, intensive training, with the aim of creating a training and learning experience where enthusiasm and self-confidence grow along with skills. Campers need to bring their own equipment and lunch each day. The camp is co-directed by Brendan Murphy and Martin Bowes. Coach Murphy has over ten years of club coaching experience, five years as a camp director, and nine years as a varsity high school coach, and he was named assistant coach of the year in 2018 and was a state champion in 2023; he played college lacrosse at Bentley University. Martin Bowes is a former Major League Lacrosse player with seven years in the MLL, competing for the Boston Cannons and Florida Launch, and he has 15 years of coaching experience with youth, high school, college, and professional players. Bowes played Division I lacrosse at the University of Hartford, where he graduated in 2012 with a degree in civil engineering, recorded 46 goals and 28 assists in 55 games, and earned NEILA All-New England first team honors. He owns and operates Complete Lacrosse Academy in Norwood, Massachusetts, works as the mental skills coach for Saint Michael’s Men’s Lacrosse, and serves as lacrosse Education Director for Massachusetts Youth Lacrosse, working with coaches and administrators across the state. The ASA Sports coaching staff is described as trained and registered to provide instruction in a fun and safe environment.
