About
Nike Basketball Camp Thayer Sports Center includes fundamental instruction, individual skill work, team-based skill work, offensive and defensive drills, competitive scrimmaging, and off-court discussions and activities to enhance on-court play. Campers take part in shooting, offense, defense, and team play, with teaching-focused sessions that also include scrimmages and contests throughout the week. Basketballs are provided for instruction during camp.

• Schedule: Winter 3-, 2-, or 1-day Complete Skills clinic options from February 17–19, 2026, and a Summer Complete Skills camp from August 17–20, 2026, with half-day (9am–12pm) and full-day (9am–3pm) options

The camp is led by Camp Director George Moses, a Director with A Step Ahead (ASA Hoops) who also works in corporate operations, boys and girls AAU (Greater Boston and South), Nike Basketball/ASA Hoops summer camps, and player training and development, and serves as an Assistant Dean of Students within the Boston Public School system. Moses is a Certified Group Exercise Instructor specializing in spinning, functional training, and kickboxing. The ASA Hoops coaching staff is described as some of the most talented and seasoned coaches in New England, and all ASA coaches are trained and registered. A Step Ahead Inc. (ASA Hoops) is in its 28th year as a year-round operation, with over 6,000 participants in its programs in 2025 and over 65 camps scheduled for the upcoming year.
Participants include boys and girls ages 7–18 from communities throughout New England and across the globe. Campers are grouped by ability, age, and experience at the Director’s discretion, and the stated staff-to-camper ratio is 1:10. Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury, and in case of an emergency, campers are transported to the nearest hospital.
All summer campers at multi-day camps receive a Nike Basketball Camps t-shirt and prizes, with 1-day clinics excluded from this item. Campers are expected to work hard, be receptive to coaching, exhibit discipline, have a strong work ethic, and be serious about basketball. ASA and Nike Basketball Camps are described as geared for all ages and abilities.
Food is not provided, and campers are asked to bring a packed or sack lunch each day along with snacks. The suggested packing list includes athletic on-court clothing, athletic shoes, a water bottle, a packed lunch and snacks, and a small gym bag or backpack. US Sports Camps states it is not responsible for lost or stolen articles or money.
