About the provider
CheerWorks was founded in 2021. Jenay Martell is the founder. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History and a Master’s Degree in Teaching and Learning from the University of Massachusetts. She served as Head Cheerleading Coach at Wando High School from 2018 to 2021, and the competition team earned a Region Championship each year during that time. The program states that every child deserves the opportunity to build confidence, stay active, and have fun in a positive, encouraging environment, and that it aims to help young athletes learn cheer fundamentals while building confidence, friendships, teamwork, perseverance, sportsmanship, resilience, and a positive attitude.
Attendance: notify the program if your child will be absent; make-up classes are generally not available. Weather/cancellations are communicated through the hosting Parks & Recreation department unless otherwise noted. A liability waiver is required on the first day and must be signed before participation. Photos and videos may be taken for promotional purposes; parents may request in writing before the program begins that their child not appear in photos. Keep children home if they are experiencing a fever, vomiting, or another contagious illness.
