About
Barrington Stage Company KidsAct! & TeensAct! offers theatre camps where participants build acting and communication skills through theatre games, improvisation, acting, character development, playwriting, performance, choreography, and singing. In both programs, students work with professionals to create an original musical that is performed on the final day of each session. KidsAct! is described as student-centered, playful, non-competitive, and cooperative, and each KidsAct! camp is staffed with a director, music director/composer, and counselor, while TeensAct! uses ensemble-based activities and improvisation and has no audition requirement, with beginners welcome.
• Ages: 7–15 years old
• Schedule: Sessions run in 2026 with KidsAct! Session One from June 22–July 2, KidsAct! Session One B from June 29–July 2 (4-day camp), KidsAct! Session Two from July 6–July 17 (2-week camp), KidsAct! Session Three from July 20–July 31 (2-week camp), KidsAct! Session Four from August 3–August 14 (2-week camp), TeensAct! Session One from June 22–July 2, and TeensAct! Session Four from August 3–August 14 (2-week camp); camps meet Monday–Friday 9am–3pm, with one KidsAct! session meeting Monday–Thursday 9am–3pm, and there is no group on July 3, 2026; final performances occur at 2pm on the last day of each session.
• Price: KidsAct! Session One $790 total, KidsAct! Session One B $365 total, KidsAct! Session Two $875 total, KidsAct! Session Three $875 total, KidsAct! Session Four $875 total, TeensAct! Session One $790 total, and TeensAct! Session Four $875 total; tuition includes a t-shirt and access to a video of the final performance, and sibling discounts are available by contacting [email protected].
The stated mission of Barrington Stage Company’s education programs is to awaken the minds, imaginations, and creative power of children, teenagers, and young adults by providing opportunities for them to experience live theatre as performers, writers, technicians, and audience members. The leadership team for education includes Jane O'Leary as Director of Education, Emily Rivera as Director of MTC and Associate Director of Education, and Miranda Gescheit as Education Associate. The organization also offers complimentary tickets for eligible public school groups to attend Mainstage shows.
