About

School Days Out Programs are offered through the YMCA of the Chesapeake. The YMCA of the Chesapeake is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with over 35,000 members and provides programs and services to more than 50,000 people every year.

The mission of the Y is to offer health, hope, and opportunity, with parents finding a safe, nurturing environment for their children to stay active, be engaged, and learn positive values. Children and teens play and develop self-confidence while feeling accepted and supported, and adults connect with friends, pursue interests, and learn how to live healthier. People from all backgrounds and walks of life come together to volunteer and help strengthen their community.

Membership privileges connected with this program include access to all YMCA of the Chesapeake locations, including Elkton, Chestertown, Centreville, Denton, Easton, St. Michaels, Cambridge, Salisbury, Pocomoke City, and Chincoteague Island. Y membership also allows access to all Ys in the State of Maryland and participating Ys throughout the country. Members have access to over 300 free land and water group exercise classes. The Y offers Stay & Play service for up to two hours per day for children six weeks to ten years old, with a parent in the facility or on the premises. The Y turns no one away due to inability to pay and provides over $2,000,000 in financial assistance to over 20,000 participants.
