About

School Days Out Programs are part of the YMCA, a founding nonprofit organization that focuses on health, hope, and opportunity for children, teens, and adults. Families connected with the program have access to YMCA membership benefits such as over 300 free land and water group exercise classes and reduced rates on swim lessons, day camp, youth sports, and more with membership. Membership connected to the program also includes unlimited access privileges at all YMCA of the Chesapeake locations and participating Ys throughout Maryland and the country.

• Price: The Y turns no one away due to the inability to pay and provides over $2,000,000 in financial assistance to over 20,000 participants.

The YMCA’s stated mission for this program and its broader services is that parents find a safe, nurturing environment for their children to stay active, be engaged, and learn positive values, while children and teens play and develop self-confidence and feel accepted and supported. Adults involved with the Y connect with friends, pursue interests, and learn how to live healthier. People from many different backgrounds volunteer with the Y and work together to strengthen their community. The YMCA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit social services organization.
