Critchlow Adkins Children’s Centers offers year-round childcare that includes literature-based STEAM activities, Literacy Programs, themed summer camps, educational field trips, and hands-on enrichment activities. The program includes preschool, before- and after-school care, and all-day summer camps, with children learning through play using literature-based STEAM activities and Literacy Programs. Its innovative STEAM activities focus on critical thinking, problem solving, teamwork, and encouraging a lifelong love of learning.

Critchlow Adkins Children’s Centers is a local non-profit dedicated to nurturing children and their families by providing quality, educationally based, and financially accessible childcare in a safe, diverse, and enriching environment. The organization offers a tuition assistance program and operates four sites within Talbot County elementary schools, with a new Cordova Site that has light and bright classrooms, engaging learning stations, and space for up to 30 additional school-age students. The leadership team includes Executive Director Cristy Morrell, Finance Director Alix Lovell, Development Director Liz Connelly, Program and Outreach Specialist Amy Michels, Office Administrator Kissaundra Thomas, Cordova Site Director Melissa Johnson, Preschool Site Director Donna Austin, School Age Site Director Keieve Colbert, St. Michaels Site Director Marlene Thomas, and White Marsh Site Director Annetta Biscoe. The Cordova Site expansion received support from the Talbot County Council through ARPA Grant Funding, Mid-Shore Community Foundation Donor Advised Funds (The Arthur H. Kudner Jr. Fund, The Reynolds/Cristiano Fund, The Fryling Fund, The Ferree Fund), as well as the Critchlow Adkins Board of Directors, private donors, and foundations.
