About
Youth Programs at Easton Family YMCA @ Peachblossom include indoor rockwall climbing. Participants use an indoor rockwall and receive climbing instruction, including harnessing and tying in, with personal instruction for their first climb.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Indoor rockwall available Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 6–8:30pm
Experienced indoor rockwall instructors walk participants through harnessing and tying in and provide personal instruction for the first climb. The rockwall is described as an exhilarating activity and a full body workout that is fun for everybody, and participation is invited for anybody ages 5–105. The YMCA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit social services organization. The Y describes itself as a founding nonprofit organization offering health, hope, and opportunity, where parents find a safe, nurturing environment for their children to stay active, be engaged, and learn positive values, and where children and teens play and develop self-confidence while feeling accepted and supported. The organization states that people from all backgrounds and walks of life come together to volunteer and help strengthen their community. Membership includes access to all 11 Eastern Shore area YMCA of the Chesapeake branches, as well as every YMCA in Maryland and most branches nationwide, and includes over 300 free land and water group exercise classes. The Stay & Play child-minding service is available for children six weeks to ten years old, up to two hours per day, with a parent required to remain on-site.
