School Days Out Programs are part of the YMCA of the Chesapeake. The program is connected to YMCA membership, which includes access to over 300 free land and water group exercise classes and other member services.
The YMCA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit social services organization dedicated to Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. People from all backgrounds and walks of life come together at the YMCA to volunteer and help strengthen their community. Membership privileges connected to the program include access to all YMCA of the Chesapeake locations listed by the organization, as well as access to all Ys in the State of Maryland and participating Ys throughout the country. With membership, families receive Stay & Play service for up to two hours per day for children six weeks to ten years old, with a parent required to remain on-site, along with reduced rates on swim lessons, day camp, youth sports, and more. The YMCA states that it turns no one away due to the inability to pay and provides over $2,000,000 in financial assistance to over 20,000 participants every year.
