Frederick Country Day Montessori & Arts School - Summer Camp

Frederick Country Day Montessori & Arts School Summer Camp includes STEAM activities along with arts, music, yoga, Spanish, and gardening. The program takes place in Montessori classrooms called the Prepared Environment, which are child-sized, subtle in colors and ambience, and have materials on the shelves for children to use. The camp also includes practical life activities such as setting the table, pouring water, zipping, buttoning, and tying laces, and it offers nature-based learning and gardening.

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 am–5:30 pm

Teachers at the camp are Montessori certified and also hold higher education degrees ranging from Associate to Master’s degrees. The program follows authentic Montessori education with self-directed work, mixed-age groups, and open-ended materials, and the Montessori classroom acts as a primary learning tool. The environment is described as a calm, warm, welcoming Montessori Prepared Environment, with fenced-in yards, security cameras, and a dedicated on-site cleaning staff. Families receive daily digital updates, and the program offers Montessori Parent Education courses, a Toilet Learning Bootcamp, and tuition support options. The school reports over 20 years of excellence and states the mission, “Your Child Will Blossom And Shine Over 20 Years Of Excellence With Authentic Montessori Education.” It is the only NECPA-accredited Montessori school in the city and has achieved a Maryland Excels Quality Rating 5 in 2025, along with recognition such as the Frederick County Family Friendly Award for a small business, a nomination for the Business Ethics Award, and HulaFrog “Most Loved” awards.
