About

Tree Trekkers Summer Camp includes daily climbing on aerial adventure courses for 2–3 hours, with access to 16 different trails across 8 difficulty levels. Campers take part in Ground School for harnessing, demonstrations, and practice, and climb specific trail combinations such as Timber Trek purple and yellow trails, purples, yellows, greens, and red, and courses up to blue or higher depending on skill level. The camp also includes team building activities, games, educational activities related to the camp theme, and crafts such as Hawaiian lei making, surfboard design, mini underwater clay aquariums, paper bag tikis, Russian nesting dolls, Chinese lanterns, Great Pyramid, paper teepees, America 250 surprise crafts, clown hat and bow tie crafts, lion and tiger puppets, acrobat people, and circus tent coloring pages, plus a bonfire with pizza and s’mores on the last day.

• Ages: 7–15 years old
• Schedule: Camp meets Tuesday–Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with sessions running June 16–19, June 30–July 3, July 14–17, July 28–31, and August 11–14.
• Price: $425 per session, including a Tree Trekkers t-shirt, climbing gloves, water bottle, all activity materials, and a last-day bonfire with pizza and s’mores; a $25 multiple child discount is available and refunds are offered up to 2 weeks before the session, with later cancellations receiving a non-expiring account credit.

Campers meet, with an adult, at Pavilion 3 between 9:15 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. for sign-in and between 2:25 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. for daily sign-out, and legal guardians must sign campers in and out every day. The youngest camper who can attend is a 7-year-old turning 8, ideally going into second grade and who has climbed at the park before. Campers must bring their own lunch, snacks, and drinks, everyone on the property must sign a waiver, gloves are recommended but not required, and campers may bring their own climbing gloves or purchase them from Tree Trekkers. The camp states that it encourages person to person communication, outdoor socialization, physical fitness, imagination, and a love for nature, and uses the slogan, “Get off the screen and into the green, because zipping is better than zooming.”

The leadership team includes Evan Gilbert (Course Manager), Ashley Schweinhart (Site and Marketing Manager), Tim Burdette (Mr. Tree Trekkers), Samantha Karch (Group Sales Coordinator), and Eli Flores (Operations Manager). Tree Trekkers notes that it does not have a registered nurse on site. The broader park is recommended for ages 7 and older and features 16 unique trails, more than 250 obstacles, and more than 40 ziplines, and is described as a place for birthday parties, groups, scouts, team bonding, camps, field trips, family fun, corporate picnics, date night, and more. Community offerings include celebrating Law Enforcement Child Month with half-off admission, the Frederick FUN Pass, and a Climbing for a Cause Summer Festival on August 8.

Parent and visitor testimonials describe the staff as patient, professional, and thorough about safety, and mention multiple difficulty levels and staff support on obstacles. One reviewer, Carrie Daugherty, reports frequent family visits and appreciation for clear directions and safety focus. Another, Timothy Leaks, describes a Girl Scout troop visit with aerial ropes courses and zipline activities that he says supported confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills. A third reviewer, Makc Eakc, describes visiting with two daughters, ages 10 and 11, and notes smooth operations, no lines during a Sunday evening visit, and staff who explain everything clearly and focus on helping guests feel safe and confident.
