Spotlight Musical Theatre offers a musical theatre program that includes acting, singing, dance, sound, lights, costumes, props, stage management, and performing, all integrated into a musical theatre setting. Participants take part in rehearsals, warm up exercises, games that engage everyone, vocal warm ups, learning specific scales, reviewing songs, learning new songs, stretching, receiving dance pointers, reviewing choreography, learning new choreography, blocking scenes, acting exercises and games, dress rehearsal, and theatre productions. The program includes summer musical theatre camp, weekly themed camps with Friday showcases, seasonal productions, Theatre 101 classes, and summer theatre camps.
• Ages: 4–18 years old
• Schedule: Weekly themed camps and a 2-week intensive session for grades 6+
• Price: Weekly camps (Ages 4+): First week – $240, after 3/31 – $250; Additional weeks – $225, after 3/31 – $235; Siblings – $230, after 3/31 – $240; Extended Morning Care from 7:30-9 am – $10/day or $45/week. 2-week intensive (Grades 6+): $480 per two-week session + Saturday performance and show shirt; after 3/31 – $495.
Spotlight Musical Theatre opened its doors for the first time in January 2015 with the production of Aladdin. Spotlight Musical Theatre was created to grow artists to their fullest potential; providing them a well-rounded musical theater education, educating them on the industry, and supplying the necessary exposure to foster their talents. Community involvement has been a part of the success of Spotlight Musical Theatre, and parent volunteers may assist by selling concessions and helping with hair and makeup. Awards and scholarships may be provided to those who have gone above and beyond throughout the rehearsal process. Every week is individually themed and has a small showcase on Friday, and students experience the entire process of a production, including working in the theatre space for a dress rehearsal with sets, lights, and costumes. No one is ever turned away due to their shyness, stage fright, or uncertainty about a long term involvement in theatre. Spotlight Musical Theatre does not offer refunds but will give a credit towards a future production or summer camp program if a family cancels, with written notice, a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the first day of program enrollment.
