Del-Mar-Va Council Scouting Programs include activities such as Merit Badge Colleges, Klondike Derbies, Summer Camp, Cub Scout Summer Camp Resident camp, AOL Camp for Rising or Departing Webelos, and Jamboree. Participants take part in hiking, camping, swimming, climbing, conservation, first aid, lifesaving, and safety programs.

• Schedule: Akridge Scout Reservation Outdoor Programs Department and Customer Service Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the Scout Shop at Akridge open Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM; the Henson Scout Shop is open every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM from September through May
Scouting America was incorporated on February 8, 1910, and was chartered by Congress in 1916. The Del-Mar-Va Council was established in 1917. The mission of Scouting America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. Scouting America is described as one of the nation’s largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The Del-Mar-Va Council provides Scouting opportunities throughout the Delmarva Peninsula, serving over 200 units and 2,000 volunteers who are delivering the promise of Scouting to over 3,600 young men and women, and serves over 3,600 families throughout the peninsula. Scouting works through neighborhoods, volunteer organizations, and faith-based organizations to help young people appreciate and respond to the needs of others. Rodney Scout Reservation Summer Camp is described as “The only Scout camp on the Chesapeake Bay.” Scouting is described as “the ultimate form of learning by doing.”
