Lower Shore Family YMCA Youth Programs are part of the YMCA, a founding nonprofit organization that offers health, hope, and opportunity for children, teens, and adults. Within these youth programs, parents find an environment where children stay active, are engaged, and learn positive values, and where children and teens play and develop self-confidence while feeling accepted and supported.
• Price: The Y turns no one away due to the inability to pay and provides over $2,000,000 in financial assistance to over 20,000 participants.
The YMCA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit social services organization. Membership at this Y includes membership privileges at all YMCA of the Chesapeake locations, including Elkton, Chestertown, Centreville, Denton, Easton, St. Michaels, Cambridge, Salisbury, Pocomoke City, and Chincoteague Island. Y membership also allows access to all Ys in the State of Maryland and participating Ys throughout the country. Members have access to over 300 free land and water group exercise classes. The Y offers a Stay & Play service for children six weeks to ten years old for up to two hours per day, with a parent required to remain on-site and able to resume responsibility at any time, and this service is considered child-minding. The Y provides programs and services to more than 50,000 people every year and has over 35,000 members. People from all backgrounds and walks of life come together at the Y to volunteer and help strengthen their community.
