Richardson School of Music

Richardson School of Music offers private lessons and a summer program. The program offers both virtual and in-person lessons for all ages. RSM’s private instructors are described as excellent musicians and exceptional teachers who have been carefully selected by the administration.

• Schedule: Teaching hours are Monday–Sunday from 8:00am–10:00pm, with office hours Monday–Friday 11:00am–7:00pm, Saturday 10:00am–3:00pm, and Sunday by appointment.

Most teachers at Richardson School of Music have at least a B.A. degree in their field, and many hold advanced degrees, while most student teachers are currently in school earning their music degrees. The school’s mission states that it is dedicated to educating and instructing children, teens, and adults in the performance and appreciation of music, and to exposing students to master teachers and performers. The leadership team includes founder Vincent Richardson and office manager Teah England. The program notes that current students can call an emergency line at 301-693-2284 for immediate assistance outside of office hours, and that donations are used for instruments and scholarships. The school states that it is happy to be part of the Takoma Park community.
