Brookside Nature Center Programs & Camps includes activities such as Crafty Little Naturalist: Stained Glass, Creature Feature, Little Explorers: Snow, and Maple Sugar Walk. The program takes place in an area with natural open spaces, wooded trails, a wooded nature play area, accessible interpretive boardwalks about forest habitat, a pond habitat where visitors can see a great blue heron, and the 1870s Harper Homestead. A GRIT Chair is available by reservation for use during nature center hours.
• Schedule: Outdoor park and trails are open daily from sunrise to sunset, and the nature center building is open Wednesday–Saturday from 10am–4pm and Sunday from 12pm–4pm.
Brookside Nature Center celebrates its sixtieth anniversary in 2022. Montgomery Parks encourages and supports the participation of individuals with disabilities, and visitors must call at least five days before their anticipated visit to reserve the GRIT Chair. Brookside Nature Center received the 2021 TripSavvy Editors’ Choice Award for Families.
