Wheaton Studio of Dance

Wheaton Studio of Dance offers Summer Day Camps, an Overnight Summer Dance Camp, a traditional 6-week summer class session, a Princess Camp, and a Recreational Camp. The program also offers a sleepaway dance camp that is described as a beloved sleepaway dance camp.

• Schedule: 6-week summer class session from June 20th through August 1st, plus a sleepaway dance camp from July 19th through July 25th, 2026

The Wheaton Studio of Dance is currently operating in its 68th year. It was founded by Joni Reese and is led by Artistic Director Shannon Rush-Locke. The staff is described as qualified to develop the abilities and confidence to let each dancer carry out a lifetime of dance. The studio is described as one of the largest dance studios in the Metropolitan Area and offers four Summer Day Camps, an Overnight Summer Dance Camp, and a traditional 6-week summer class session. The program has a partnership with Dance Supplies, Etc., offering 10% off in-store and 5% off for online purchases. Masks are optional for everyone at all locations. The mission statement says that the program believes dance is an art and that there is no limit to what a young dancer can achieve when it is learned, and that it aims to provide families and dancers with a fun and positive dance experience, combine dance with family and community, and teach dance in a safe and fun environment while creating a unique experience for every dancer. The program states that it takes great pride in its family of dancers and its community outreach events.
