Portland School of Ballet offers classes and programs including Ballet, Pointe, Pre-pointe, Jazz, Contemporary, Baby & Me, Young Dancer Classes, Junior Division, Senior Division, Community Division, Teen & Adult: Open Classes, Community Ballet, Revisiting Ballet, Ballet Essentials, Open Classes, and PSB Performances. The program also offers Summer Camps for ages 3–11, a Pre-Pointe Summer Intensive, and a Full Summer Intensive Program, along with other PSB Performances.

Founded in 1980, Portland School of Ballet is home to the leading classical training in Maine, and training is taught by professional faculty members using a Vaganova-based curriculum. Uniform information is located in the Handbook. Portland Ballet is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and it is Portland Ballet's mission to enrich and strengthen Maine’s communities through ballet performance, education, and experiences. Portland Ballet is a partner to the local learning ecosystem, offers Ballet for All: Community Outreach and a Community Division for all ages, and tickets are available through PortTIX, the trusted box office for Portland Ballet. The program offers beginner and intermediate Teen/Adult Drop-In classes, rolling registration, and a scholarship application form, and states that ballet is for everyone. The Pre-Professional Division is designed for students who are looking to join a professional dance company or to continue their studies by pursuing a Ballet Degree in college. Portland Ballet states that it strives to foster an environment of inclusivity, condemns all acts of racism, hatred, and violence, and commits to train and support the next generation of dancers in an environment that is safe, empowering, and equitable.
