About

Rec & Ed School Break Camps offer activities in youth soccer, a youth chess tournament, youth art, and fitness/yoga. The program is part of Community Education & Recreation, which offers these activities to residents of Ann Arbor and surrounding communities.

Community Education & Recreation has provided enrichment and recreational opportunities for almost 100 years. Its mission is to improve the quality of life in the community through recreation and education. It serves about 19,000 youth and 18,500 adults annually, from birth to senior adult. The organization offers a generous scholarship program and provides adapted programming for differently-abled children and adults. Programs are available in convenient locations throughout Ann Arbor, including school buildings, city recreational facilities, and other community locations, and AAATA Bus Line 26 stops at Pioneer High School near Rec & Ed. Rec & Ed staff routinely conduct surveys, focus groups, and talk to people around town to find out what the community would like them to offer. The leadership team includes an executive director, multiple directors, managers, supervisors, specialists, office professionals, and program assistants across areas such as lifelong learning, early childhood, youth enrichment, fitness/yoga, school-age child care, youth camps, team sports, adult recreation, tennis, and strategic partnerships.
