Midwest 3 on 3 offers 3 on 3 basketball through leagues, tournaments, and camps. The program includes a 3 on 3 basketball league and 3 on 3 basketball tournaments, along with Midwest Basketball Training by Pat Freeman. Participants register as a team of 3–6 players, and kids coach themselves in the Alexandria 3 on 3 Basketball League.
• Ages: 7–18 years old
• Schedule: Sundays in the fall, with approximate times between 10:40 AM and 9:00 PM; teams play two 20-minute games per week in a 4- or 5-week league
• Price: EARLY BIRD and FINAL registration each have a per-team cost (TBD), with no spectator admission fees
Since 1997, Midwest 3 on 3 has provided a #Play4Fun atmosphere for kids to enjoy playing basketball, and it ran its first 3 on 3 league in 1997 at Champlin Park High School. The stated goal is to provide a fun atmosphere for kids to experience playing basketball where they can play with friends and touch the ball a lot, without coaches yelling or an emphasis on winning. The program features a #Play4Fun atmosphere, music, concessions, court monitors who keep score and officiate, easy online registration, the option to play with friends, and no spectator admission fees. For tournaments, T-shirts are awarded to 1st and 2nd place teams, and there is an option to order team shirts. The program accepts schedule requests prior to making the weekly schedule. The leadership team includes CHRISTY HILLEY as Chief Executive Officer, MIKE HILLEY as Chief Operating Officer & Scheduler, and PAT FREEMAN as Lead Camp Director.
