About
Hype Volleyball Summer League includes team practices, competitions, and volleyball training. Athletes spend time learning and enhancing technical skills, team skills, and volleyball fundamentals during this 5-week summer program. The league consists of five 1.5-hour team practices and 4–5 competitions around the Twin Cities area, with placement on teams for practice and competition based on skill and/or grade in school, and all team placement decisions are final and non-negotiable.
• Ages: 10–15 years old
• Schedule: 5-week summer program with one team practice per week and competitions on Thursdays
• Price: $400.00 includes coaching, gym rental for practices, equipments, team league fee, program administration and Hype practice/game shirt; payment in cash or check only, with full payment due the night of tryouts if the athlete makes a Hype team
Tryouts take place on July 1st from 6:30pm–7:45pm. Team practices are held on Tuesdays or Wednesdays from either 6:00–7:30pm or 7:30–9:00pm, with practice starting Tuesday 7/8 and concluding on 8/7 with the final competition. Competitions are scheduled on Thursdays 7/17, 7/24, 7/31, and 8/7, and may occur over 2–4 hours between 5:30pm–9:30pm; if competition is cancelled for any reason, there is no pro rate refund. Competition Thursdays are described as an extra bonus, and the program includes a Hype practice/game shirt. A COVID-19 Preparedness Plan and Hype Waiver are available online.
The leadership team includes Coach Kue, Coach Kash, Coach Justin, Coach Des, Coach Cookii, Coach Nesha (seasonal), Coach Charisma (seasonal), Coach Bubs, and Coach Penelope (seasonal). Hype Volleyball states that it focuses on the personal and athletic growth of all athletes by providing intensive and high-level volleyball training, polishing developmental and fundamental skills, and improving overall performance level, using a safe, positive, and effective learning environment in addition to proper sportsmanship etiquette. Hype Volleyball also states that the volleyball passion, knowledge, and values instilled into student-athletes will lead them to carry these principles through all aspects of their life.
