• Ages: 1–18 years old

The Gym Bin was established in 1987 and has been serving the community for over 30 years. The leadership team includes Mary Allen (Owner), Cassandra Hietala (Owner), Mikayla Simon (General Manager), and Brittney Beck (Program Coordinator). Mary Allen is a gym teacher and long-time advocate for the health and wellness of children. Cassandra Hietala is an elementary teacher who started gymnastics at the age of 3, became the first USAG Jr. Olympic Level 9 gymnast to compete out of The Gym Bin, and began coaching in 2006. The Gym Bin is a member of USA Gymnastics. Its stated mission is that The Gym Bin is committed to not just developing gymnasts, but the development of individuals as a whole.

The recreational class program instructs beginning and intermediate gymnastics starting at the age of one. The Gym Bin lists the benefits of being involved in gymnastics as self-confidence, flexibility, strength, agility, coordination, determination, discipline, mental focus, and overall fitness and well-being for now and the future.

Gymnastics in the Bemidji area is supported by a nonprofit organization, the Bemidji Gymnastics Club (BGC). The BGC owns much of the equipment housed in The Gym Bin and works to reduce the cost of gymnastics. The Gym Bin is the home of the Bemidji High School Gymnastics Team.
