The Brainerd Basketball Association Traveling Basketball League offers a traveling basketball league for boys and girls in grades 3–8. The program also includes an In House League, 3-8 Travel, and the Paul Bunyan Classic tournament.

• Schedule: Boys 3rd–8th grade play February 7–8, 2026; Girls 3rd–8th grade play February 14–15, 2026
The Brainerd Basketball Association (BBA) is a community based volunteer organization. Its objective is to foster and develop competitive basketball players who attend school in the Brainerd School District, with direction from the Brainerd Boys & Girls Varsity basketball coaches. The program’s goal is to develop basketball players who have aspirations of playing competitive basketball in the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL). To develop players, the BBA offers a traveling basketball league for boys and girls in grades 3–8, and players in the program are expected to attend practices and weekend tournaments. This opportunity is open to all children who attend school in the Brainerd School District and who have aspirations of playing basketball at a competitive level. The BBA is a member of the Minnesota Youth Basketball Alliance (MYBA) and follows the MYBA Team Composition Guidelines.
The Paul Bunyan Classic reaches its 29th annual event in 2026. Leadership roles include Tim Bauman for boys and girls tryouts and team selection questions or concerns, Ellen Thomes as Away Tournament Scheduling Coordinator, and Darren Larson as Treasurer. Positions are listed as available for both a Boys Website Coordinator and a Girls Website Coordinator. The organization notes that its website is powered by SportsEngine's Sports Relationship Management (SRM) software.
