About
Down Syndrome Camp offers activities such as swimming, fishing, boating, tubing, paddleboarding, horseback riding, campfires, arts and crafts, and nature hikes and lessons at the nature center. Campers also have evening options that include dancing, BINGO, and talent shows.

• Price: Camp fee is $950.00
Camp staff are trained to work with children and young adults who have special needs. Packing for camp includes a downloadable packing list and guiding principles for how to prepare a camper for camp. The Down Syndrome Foundation was founded in 2000, and its sole mission is to support the Down Syndrome Camp and offer a unique and safe environment where individuals with Down syndrome, ages 10–20, can cultivate friendships, discover new abilities and talents, develop an increase in self-worth and independence, and have the unforgettable life-changing experience of overnight camp. The sole purpose of the Down Syndrome Foundation is to support the Down Syndrome Camp, and all funding from the Down Syndrome Foundation goes directly towards the benefit of operating the Down Syndrome Camp. The Board of Directors are all volunteers, and volunteers are vetted through an application process.
The leadership team includes Angie Kniss – President and Founder; Ellie Wilson – Counselor Coordinator. The Down Syndrome Foundation Board Members are: Angie Kniss – President; Aaron Holland – Secretary; Shari Williams – Chief Financial Officer; Michaela Tschida/Colin Williams – Camper Coordinator; Maureen Lindholm – Board Member; Gordon Bentley – Board Member; Maria Harris – Board Member; Jason Beckendorf – Board Member; Ellie Wilson – Board Member; and Jenna Laabs – Board Member.
