Kids & Teens Classes and Camps at Chef Alyssa's Kitchen are part of a culinary kitchen that started inside a farmers market and began in 2013, later expanding in 2018 and now hosting over 400 events per year. Chef Alyssa leads the program and has worked at several Charlotte restaurants and became an executive chef at age 26, and the leadership team also includes Andrew Wilen, an event planner and marketer. The kitchen uses professional butcher-block tables, Electrolux induction cookware and small appliances, Big Green Eggs, professional knives, and Lodge cast iron cookware. The program includes 2026 Summer Culinary and Baking Camps, with each week set by age group and a new menu, and these camps are for ages 7 and up. The kitchen focuses on fun and interactive cooking classes with a hands-on approach to menus and a wide range of skills and cuisines, and local ingredients are a key part of how they operate. Chef Alyssa's Kitchen offers made-fresh-daily family table meals for pick-up or delivery with same-day ordering available until 11 am, and gift cards are available for cooking classes and family table meals, along with a newsletter sign-up to learn about class offerings, special events, and catering options. The kitchen has an on-site recycling and composting center, uses compostable packaging and local ingredients, and maintains long-term relationships with many of the same local farmers they started with.
