About

VolunTeens & RIP Squad Youth Environmental Volunteering includes trail clean-up, trail clearing, and habitat restoration work. Participants clean and maintain trails, remove dead branches and debris, and remove invasive plants as part of hands-on environmental volunteering focused on nature.

• Ages: 12–18 years old
• Schedule: VolunTeens Trail Clean-Up at Rye Wilderness Preserve at Rye Preserve runs 3:00pm–5:00pm on February 17, and RIP Squad Trail Clearing & Invasive Plant Removal at Robinson Preserve (south) runs 9:00am–10:00am on February 18.

VolunTeens is a volunteer opportunity designed specifically for teens ages 13–18 who want to give back to the environment and earn service hours, and the program is recommended for ages 13–18. The program is also described as suitable for ages 12 and up. Calling teens ages 13–18, the VolunTeens component focuses on cleaning trails at Rye Preserve while participants earn volunteer service hours. RIP Squad offers a hands-on volunteer workday focused on trail clearing and invasive plant removal, where volunteers remove dead branches, debris, and invasive plants to help improve trail access and restore native habitat. The program is a volunteer type with a nature topic and is run by Manatee County Natural Resources.
