The organization’s mission states that it provides afterschool and summer programming, youth athletics leagues, and teen centers with targeted teen programming, with a focus on character and leadership, academic success, healthy lifestyles, and education and career development for youth ages 6–18. Each of the seven Clubhouses offers after-school and summer programming that the organization describes as affordable and enriching, and the Club states that it works to meet the essential needs of every kid and to help them realize their full potential. Youth in the programs receive a hot meal every day and have access to dental care if they are uninsured or underinsured.

The leadership team includes Chief Executive Officer Erin Oliver; Interim CEO and Chief Development Officer Robbin Kerner; Chief Operations Officer Tony Stafford; Chief Financial Officer Tracey Monier; Senior Teen Services Director Haidee Munoz; Senior Athletic Director Kyle Buse; Senior Health & Dental Services Director Meghan Udlock; Senior Marketing Director Kari Roberts; several Senior Branch Directors and Branch Directors; and staff in roles such as Teen Services Manager, Teen Court Coordinator, Support Services Coordinator, Director of Grants & Project Manager, and Director of Annual Giving. A youth testimonial from Yuleth C., the 2025 Youth of the Year for Boys & Girls Club of Salem, Marion and Polk Counties, states that the Club became “a beacon of hope” and that “The Boys & Girls Club didn’t just impact my life; it saved it.”
