City Dance Theatre

City Dance Theatre offers dance classes that include summer classes and workshops, an intensive week, and recitals. Students can take part in winter recitals, a spring recital, and the Relevé Performing Company. The program also offers Dance & Play and Pizazz & Dance Parties as part of its activities.

Since its inception in 1996, City Dance Theatre has focused on providing superior dance technique training by a highly qualified professional faculty. Its stated goal is to develop students into well trained, dedicated, and committed dancers with a passion for the art form. The program describes its faculty and environment as nurturing, with an emphasis on creativity, dedication, and commitment. City Dance Theatre’s philosophy is that being involved in dance helps round out the total educational experience offered by school, parents, and community. With an emphasis on strong foundation and technique, each student is offered the opportunity to gain appreciation, fulfillment, and self reward through the dance classes offered. The program notes that it is celebrating 30 years of dance education in Salem, Oregon.
