The Camden Y Youth Programs use an administrative office in Camden for planning, and all programs take place in the community. Camden Teens Cook uses the ServSafe curriculum and focuses on essential cooking techniques, hands-on kitchen skills, and food safety training. Youth Civic Engagement encourages students to become active, informed, and engaged citizens and includes both Model UN and Youth & Government. Teen Workforce Development equips teens with skills, experiences, and connections needed to succeed in the workplace and beyond, and the Achievers Program is the YMCA’s flagship college preparation and career readiness program. Camden Youth News Network is a youth-driven media program that focuses on communication skills and telling authentic stories from the community. Soccer for Success is delivered in partnership with the U.S. Soccer Foundation, Campbell’s Soup Company, and United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, and incorporates social-emotional learning into every session through caring coach-mentors. Flag football and basketball programs serve students in grades two through middle school, while volleyball programs are for middle school boys and girls and prepare them for their high school programs. CATCH introduces non-traditional sports and activities and includes components of character development by teaching healthy communication and team building activities.

The YMCA has delivered Soccer for Success in Camden City for the past seven years. The mission of Camden Y Youth Programs states that the work of the Y stretches far beyond the walls of its branches and into the Camden community, with a focus on meeting the community where they are and providing free programming based on community needs. The programs have established strategic partnerships with schools, policymakers, residents, and other community stakeholders to create programs and policies that support healthy living, youth development, and social responsibility.
