About
Shemesh Day Camp includes trips, workshops, daily breakouts, shows, activities, a water park, late nights, runaways, talent workshops, Nesher Leagues, and the Shemesh Carnival. The Juniors, Seniors, and Tops programs run separately, and the Nesher program has its own uniquely planned schedule that is separate from the rest of the camp. Tops girls have exclusive activities with top-secret workshops, late nights and activities, lead daily breakout, prepare a performance, and run the yearly Shemesh Carnival, while Nesher girls have upscale trips, runaways, late nights, talent workshops, Sup Specials, and exciting Nesher Leagues.

• Schedule: Monday–Thursday 9:05am–3:05pm and Friday 9:05am–1:00pm, with first-half and second-half summer options

Shemesh Day Camp offers a Junior Division for girls and boys ages 3 to 5, a Senior Girls Division for girls entering first through third grade, an exclusive Senior Tops Program for girls entering third grade, and a NESHER program for girls entering fourth and fifth grade. The Nesher program is planned separately from the rest of the camp. Online registration is available.
The camp began 18 years ago in a small backyard in Lakewood, New Jersey, moved to a small school building in 2011, and in 2015 began renting its current location in the Bais Faiga building. The director is Tzipra Eger. Their stated vision is to provide children with a top quality summer experience while continuing to hold on to the Trademark Shemesh Spirit, and they list accommodating campers and their parents as their top priority. The camp notes that it continues to serve the community in and around Lakewood.
Shemesh Day Camp states that counselors are carefully screened and handpicked for their dedication and experience, and that the directors are involved hands on with the children. A full-time security guard is on the grounds.
Parent feedback includes comments such as a child “enjoyed every minute” and wants to continue attending for all the ages until she is too old, and that “all the activities are so perfect for her age.” Other parents describe their girls as having a “FABULOUS first few days,” singing camp songs nonstop, and refer to the camp as an “amazing production.” One parent reports that the children were excited to go every day, were always smiling, and that their midos improved and they matured over the summer, and that this allowed the parents to relax knowing the kids were happy. Multiple parents thank the camp for “the happiest summer” their daughter has had in years, praise the management, hiring, planning, coordinating, scheduling, arranging, and personal connection and warmth with every camper, and state, “We love u, and we love Camp Shemesh.”
